The Amma two-wheeler scheme was launched by the honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in February 2018 on the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of the former Tamilnadu chief minister Jayalalithaa with the name of Amma. This scheme promises to give a subsidy of 50% of up to ₹25000 for working women who want to buy a two-wheeler.
