What is Chitta? Chitta, previously a separate document, now merged with Patta after 2015, contains land area, assessment, ownership, and other relevant details. Maintained by the Taluk office and village administration, it classifies land into categories like Nanjai (wetland) and Punjai (dryland).

Applying for Patta Chitta Online: The digitization of land records has streamlined the process. To apply online:

  1. Visit the official Tamil Nadu Government website.
  2. Navigate to “View Patta & FMB/Chitta/TSLR Extract” and select your district and area form.
  3. Provide accurate land details and submit the application.
  4. Upon successful submission, an online certificate will be generated containing essential land details.
